Today it was my turn to enjoy some beautiful skies over Takikawa. Sadly, my first launch in DH soon saw me back at the airfield after Higuchi-san released me to the north-west of the airfield.
However, the second launch was straight into 4-6 knots, and I was soon at 4700 feet.
The Pinneshiri area did not work as well as I had hoped, so I went north-west towards Shokan Dam, and then north-east 14km towards Moseushi, and then south-east 15km from the airfield to try and follow some good looking clouds.
However, by this time the clouds were disappearing to the east so I was very happy that a blue thermal gave me some extra height return to the airfield and to cross to the west again.
A beautiful 2 hour 20 minute flight that taught me that Takikawa Cross-Country pilots are VERY BRAVE and need to be very skillful!!!
